Some nights you are on a late shift, or on a plane, or just downstairs trying to get dinner finished. The story still happens. It just happens without you.
That is the whole reason the voice studio exists.
How it works
You read a short passage out loud into your phone or your laptop, about a minute of speech. Oodleloo sends that recording to our voice partner, which builds a model of how you sound. From then on, any story in the library can be read aloud in your voice instead of ours, and your child can press play on it whenever they like.
It works on the stories we have written and on the ones your family makes in the Family Studio, so a tale your child invented on a Tuesday can be read back to them by you on a Thursday.
The permission part, which we take seriously
A voice is not like a photo. It is yours, it identifies you, and in several states the law treats it that way. So before anything is recorded:
- You read and sign a short written release. No box is pre-ticked and payment alone never unlocks it.
- The permission lasts twelve months, then lapses unless you renew it.
- You can revoke it at any moment from your account. When you do, the voice is purged straight away, not at the end of the month.
- Only you can make a voice. There is no way to record a child’s voice, and there never will be.
What you get each month
Premium+ includes 4 stories read in your voice a month. It is a beta, so you may hear the odd flat sentence, and we would genuinely like to know when you do.
A recorded story is not the same as you sitting on the edge of the bed. It is just better than silence on the nights you cannot be there.
