Reward points are simple on purpose. 100 points is worth $1, and you can spend them at the shop till or against your membership. No tiers to decode, no expiry calendar to watch.
How you earn them
- 1 point for every dollar you spend in the shop.
- 500 bonus points, worth $5, on any order over $100.
- 100 points when a family you invited becomes a paying family.
- 50 points for the family who joined, on the same event.
Why the invite reward waits
Most referral schemes pay the moment somebody signs up. That is also why most referral schemes end up full of invented accounts.
Ours pays nothing at signup. The points for both families land only after the person you invited makes a real purchase or starts a paid membership, and they are reversed if that payment is later refunded. On top of that, both email addresses have to be verified, throwaway address domains are refused, and no more than three rewards can come from the same internet connection.
It means the invite page is slower to pay out than other people’s. It also means the points in your balance are real.
Spending them
At checkout, your points appear as an amount you can knock off the total, in the app and on the website alike. They also work against a membership payment, so a few invites really can cover a month.
Everything sits on one page: your balance, every point you have ever earned and what for, and every family you have invited with the status of each one.
