Children take their own stories much more seriously once the story is an object. Something with a cover. Something you can hand to somebody.
From an idea to a book
Start a story in the Family Studio with any of the 14 friends in it. Write it yourself, or ask for a draft and then change every word of it, which is what most families end up doing. Add the pictures. Then press the button that turns the whole thing into a book.
What comes out is a single PDF with a cover page and one page per scene, sized for ordinary paper. Print it at home, staple it down the left edge, and that is a book. Or send the file to a grandparent and let them print it at their end.
Ways families use it
- A birthday present from one sibling to another.
- A story about a thing a child is nervous about, read the week before it happens.
- Something to post to a relative who lives too far away to visit often.
- A record of the summer, written in August and read again in February.
What is included
Writing and illustrating stories by hand is unlimited. The AI drafts, for when you want a starting point rather than a blank page, are capped at 10 a month on Premium+. Turning a finished story into a printable book is not capped at all.
Pair it with the voice studio and the same story can be read aloud in your voice, which is a nice thing for the book to do when nobody is free to read it.
