Loo and the Just-in-Case Bag

Loo was going on a picnic, and Loo liked to be ready. Very, very ready.

Into the bag went a blanket, a cup, a spoon, a hat, a map and a little lantern.

“Just in case,” said Loo, and squeezed in a rope, a whistle and three extra socks.

The bag was so full it would not close. Loo sat on the lid to squash it shut.

Then Loo tried to lift it. Loo tugged and puffed and went pink in the ears. The bag did not budge.

Petal sat down beside the enormous bag. “What do we really need for a picnic?”

Loo thought hard. “A blanket to sit on,” said Loo. “And something nice to eat.”

Out came the rope. Out came the whistle. Out came all three pairs of socks.

The little bag lifted easily, and off they went. “A few good things,” said Loo, “is plenty.”
