Light and Dark with Petal

Hi friends, it's Petal! Did you know one color can have two looks, a light one and a dark one? Today we're learning light and dark. What's your favorite color?

Look at the sky, it's light blue, soft and bright. Now look at the deep sea below, it's dark blue. Same color, two different shades. Can you point to the dark blue?

This new little leaf is light green, and the tall pine tree is dark green. Point to the darker one. Which one looks lighter, the leaf or the pine?

Even pink comes in two shades! Light pink, like a tiny morning bud, and dark pink, like a rose. Which pink do you like best, the light one or the dark one?

Here's my painting secret. A drop of white makes a color lighter. A drop of black makes it darker. What do you think happens if I add white to red?

Light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green. Every color has a soft side and a deep side. Look at your clothes. Can you find a light color or a dark one?
