Long and Short with Loo

Loo compares things around her tree to find out what is long and what is short, and kids measure along with her.

What they say in this video

Hi friends, it's Loo! Today we're learning three measuring words, long, short, and tall. I made a little list so we don't miss a thing. Are you ready to measure with me?

Look down by my feet. A long wiggly snake lies next to a short curled-up worm. Which one is long? Draw a long, long line in the air with your finger.

This oak tree is tall, it reaches up toward the sky. The round bush beside it is short. Point to the tall one. Now reach up high and be a tall tree!

Two red ribbons, the very same color. Only their length is different. If you wanted to tie a big bow, would you pick the long ribbon or the short one?

I lined up five sticks from shortest to longest, like little stairs. Show me with your hands how short the first stick is. Now stretch them wide for the longest!

How long is this fallen branch? Let's measure it with acorns. Count along, one, two, three, four, five. This branch is five acorns long. Measuring is fun!

We found a long snake, a short worm, a tall tree, and a long branch. Do you remember which word went with the tree? That's right, tall! Give yourself a big cheer.

Bye for now, my clever friend! Today, find something long and something short in your room, and show a grown-up which is which. Let's figure it out together next time!

The whole script, in the order it is spoken.
